FDNA encourages all coaches from Club level to Elite level to take part in coaching accreditation courses.  These courses are held at FDNA and conducted by qualified coaching staff from Netball Victoria.  Even if you are a parent coaching at the junior level, FDNA encourages you to enroll in a Foundation Coaching course.

Foundation Coaching Course         <back to top> 

 

The Foundation Coaching Course covers basic coaching principles, the teaching and correcting of Netball and modified Netball skills, and is a great course to attend if you are interested in becoming a coach.

 

Length: 1 day

Development Coaching Course         <back to top> 

 

The Development Coaching Course is aimed at those who are already coaching a team and want to improve.


Length: 1 day

Pre-Requisites:

· Minimum age: 15 years.

· Successful completion of the Foundation course.

· Section 1 Umpire Theory Examination Pass.

· Must be a current Netball Victoria member

Intermediate Coaching Course         <back to top> 

The Intermediate Coaching Course is a practically orientated workshop aimed at those who are coaching players above the age of 14 years at Club, Association, Regional or Zone Academy level. The course is an excellent introduction into the practical component of the Advanced Coaching Course. This Accreditation is comprised of two separate courses – the ‘Intermediate Coaching Course’ and the ‘Intermediate General Coaching Principles Course’. This is an NCAS accredited course.

All coaches wishing to participate in this course must first have completed the Intermediate General Principles of Coaching Course conducted by Sport Education Victoria. This is a generic course (not Netball specific). The course is delivered via a range of methods, and to enrol you must contact Sport Education Victoria on 03 9425 0056. Please note that ALL 13 modules of the Intermediate General Principles of Coaching Course must be completed for Netball coaches.

 

Additionally, any coaches that can provide proof of completion of the Level 2 General Principles of Coaching course conducted by Sport Education Victoria are exempt from the Intermediate General Principles course.

· Minimum age: 16 years.

· Successful Completion of the Development course.

PLEASE NOTE: Coaches wishing to participate in the Intermediate Coaching Course must bring two players to the course with them for the Practical Assessment component only. These players must be available at the venue from 1.30 – 4.00pm and be a minimum of 15 years of age. Failure to provide two players for the Practical Assessment will disqualify the coach from being able to undertake the Practical Assessment component of the course and therefore be ineligible to be awarded the accreditation.

 

Advanced Coaching Course         <back to top>

 

The Advanced Coaching Course is designed for coaches wanting to further develop their coaching skills to a level recommended for Regional, State League and State teams.


 

Elite Coaching Course         <back to top>

 

The new Elite Course is designed for coaches of state league and state teams, and is conducted annually by Netball Australia. The course will comprise of a number of compulsory and optional modules with the practical components delivered in each state and the theory components delivered either on-line or by correspondence.

 

 

High Performance Coaching Course         <back to top>

 

The High Performance Coaching course equates to the former Level 3 course, and is conducted annually by Netball Australia for coaches wanting to reach the pinnacle of coaching. This course has been modified to reflect the changing requirements of coaching in the high performance environment.
